Day 4/5: Sorry didn't have time to post yesterday

Hello everyone,

So yesterday I had the realization that going out to eat like the good old days was going to be tough. I went to Paradise Bakery with a friend and I was trying to decide what to get. I usually get mac and cheese or a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. All they have was VEGETARIAN black bean soup and not really sure if it's vegan or not. Another realization was: "shit these people don't even know what's in their food." I ended up only being able to get a fruit cup and a tea. It was so sad because I was so hungry.

But then that night, I had a filling dinner of quinoa burger which was extremely bland. I need to start making my own burgers to make them tastier.

I feel like I haven't been eating enough since I'm too busy to make meals.

Today, I had a soccer game. Then I had a protein shake. Then chow mein twice following that. And some mint Newman O's.

Not too shabby for someone who is this busy.

Day 3: Also day 3 of eating out

Hello!

I think the fact that I've been busy lead me to eat out for the first three days of my vegan year. I'm not complaining though because it's been a delicious three days!

I had this today at Green: Singapore Orange

I also ended up buying Vega protein too:

Very excited for this! I'm also making my own almond milk to go along with this :) posting recipe tomorrow!

Day 2: This vegan thing isn't so bad...

Hello all,

So I went to Green All-American Vegetarian and Nami tonight! Now, if you haven't been to either of these places, you should go, whether you're a vegan or not, just go. It's so good. So good.

I had the bufallo wings as an appetizer, then I had the Singapore Orange, which had house fries tofu, broccoli, carrots, zucchini, and brown rice all tossed in an orange glaze/sauce.

For dessert, I had a vegan cheesecake topped with strawberries and whipped cream (also 100% vegan from Nami).

I was definitely prepared to take pictures but I only remembered after I left the restaurant. Have no fear though, I'll be going back soon anyways!

Day 2 of being vegan isn't all that bad, I'm exited to see what the next day will bring.

Tomorrow, I will be getting blood drawn to test my cholesterol levels so that I can compare now and the end of the year.

Vegan out!

P.S. Definitely check out Green and Nami. It's just north of McDowell on 7th St.

Day 1:

Hello all,

Happy new year :)

So I decided to go vegan in the 2014 year!

I'm not exactly sure of the reason why I'm doing it except maybe I just felt like doing it.

Today started off great: I had a tsoynami from Nami: soy ice cream with Newman's Mint Oreos, chocolate syrup, and coconut in it for breakfast (I know, not the most nutritious, but it was definitely delicious). Then went to lunch and had amazing food: coconut curry chickpea soup, lentil soup, falafel, garlic red potatoes, and hummus with pitas. Such a feast!

I'm very excited for this new year as a vegan!

P.S. I won't be that vegan that starts preaching about how bad of a person you are if you're not vegan. I'm doing me and everyone should do whatever they want. Like I said, my reason is solely based off the fact that I wanted to be a vegan. I mean I love a good burger, I mean, gyros are my favorite thing to eat for God's sake, but I want to try it out for the fun of it. Unfortunately, animals are still going be slaughtered. Meat and dairy production is a profitable business. It's simply the reality of life.

Join me on this adventure, I'll be sharing recipes soon too!
